Not a story…just a Brain Sketch.

“The Elephant Celebes” by Max Ernst (1921)

Tommy the Behemoth

It is safe to say that Rick was absolutely unprepared for what he was about to experience when he first walked into the bar. He closed his umbrella and took off his coat, put it away on a hook after shaking off the water from it. He was surprised to see an elephant head right next to the hanger; the animal (its name was “Tommy the Behemoth”) had apparently been hunted by the founder of the bar, who, as mentioned on a golden placard below, had passed away due to a mysterious illness that they still hadn’t found a name for. The head only had one tusk, and the eyes of the elephant suggested not anguish or misery, but simply confusion. As if a lifetime of watching drunk men gamble at the pool table had left it incapable of understanding humanity anymore. It is only later that the man would discover that Tommy could, indeed, talk.
