Moonlight Sonata

--

A free-verse poem about love. And music.

Painting of Schubert playing the piano. Two three ladies listen to the melody, entranced.
“Schubert at the Piano II” by Gustav Klimt (1899)

Once,
You asked me
To describe the
Moonlight Sonata
In words.
And all I could think of saying
Was that sometimes,
Words don’t do justice to feelings.

Darling,
The next time
Someone says “I love you”,
I’m going to nod.
